Memphis in May Whole Hog Competition
The Memphis in May competition is my favorite. It continues over a four day weekend where there are 4 different competitions that I qualify to judge:
1. Memphis in May Whole Hog 2. World Food Championships
3. MBN Smokeslam 4. SCA Steak Cookoff
This competition is the World Championshil for Whole Hog barbecue. Even TV Food Network "BBQ USA" is here. (S-2 Eps-8).
Many local busnisses sponsor competition teams where they hold their company private parties at the same site (Judges welcome). There's even a Barbecue Sauce wrestling match (see below) like you've never seen before. A Splash in the Sauce!
Over 150 Teams are in Liberty Park today to compete including these top Teams from years past:
