KCBS® was founded in 1985.  Its mission is recognizing barbeque as America's Cuisine, and to celebrate, teach, preserve and promote barbeque as a culinary technique, sport and art form. Today it is one of the largest cooking-contest organizations in the world, sanctioning more than 450 events a year Worldwide.  KCBS is a nonprofit, with more than 20,000 members.

The World Food Championships® is the largest competition in Food Sport, where culinary competitors of previous events convene for a chance at winning the ultimate food crown and a share of hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money. The World Food Championships is also the springboard for many up and coming culinary stars as they seek TV fame through many well-known food shows.

Since 1967, ICS ® has been bringing people together over America’s greatest culinary creation - CHILI! We sanction nationwide chili cook-offs all year long, which raise money for charities and produce an annual World Champion! In 2020, the World Food Championships officially acquired ICS to further its brand in the Food Sport world!

Whole Hog Championship

Recognized as the “Most Prestigious Barbecue Contest,” the Memphis in May® World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is a four-day competition held at Liberty Park in Memphis, TN.
Teams compete for the title of Memphis in May World Champion. The contest features championship Whole Hog cooking as well as various ancillary competitions.
